Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we near the end of our second term, I would like to thank you for your support and cooperation over the past few months and to wish you all a very happy Easter.
BREAKFAST & HOMEWORK CLUBS
There will be NO homework club next week. Breakfast club will continue as normal. Both clubs will resume after the holidays on April 4th.
THANK YOU!
Many thanks to all the parents and grandparents who are generously giving of their time to help with the Confirmation ‘You Shall Be My Witness’ programme.
INVITATIONS
We would like to invite you to mark ‘Proclamation Day’ on Tues, March 15th by joining us for our ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ concert in the school hall at 1 p.m.
We are inviting all pupils to dress up for our ‘Leprechaun Dash’ on March 16th. It promises to be great fun!
ACTIVITIES
Comhghairdeas/Congratulations to both our boys’ & girls’ Gaelic teams who won their opening matches. May it be the first of many victories!!
The school’s athletics club took part in their third meet in Porterstown on Tuesday, March 8th.
Some of our pupils will be taking part in a soccer blitz in Abbotstown on Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th March. We wish them well.
The school Book Fair takes place this week and we ask you to support it in whatever way you can. Remember, books feed minds!!
Our 6th classes enjoyed a wonderful tour of Glasnevin Cemetery and Collins Barracks recently. We would highly recommend these tours as family days out.
PUPIL SAFETY
We remind parents that school opens to receive pupils at 9 a.m. No responsibility is accepted for pupils arriving before that time. This also applies to pupils attending the breakfast club who leave the hall early and go out to the yard.
SOCIAL MEDIA
We remind parents that children under the age of 13 should not be using social media. There have been some regrettable incidents in the school recently which could have been avoided if parents exercised vigilance in this regard.
An extensive amount of school time is spent dealing with the consequences of such actions when time could be used more effectively.
FUNDRAISING
Our Easter Hamper raffle will take place in the school before the break. Tickets are on sale now and are €2 for a strip of 5.
Our Parents’ Association are running a ‘Guess the Number of Marbles in the Jar’ competition – 50 cent per guess or 3 guesses for €1.00. This competition starts on Thursday.
The school will close for the Easter holidays at 12 noon on Wednesday, March 16th. We will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 4th.
