Dear Parent/Guardian,

CONFIRMATION NOTICES

The Ceremony of Light for Confirmation pupils will take place on Monday, May 23rd at 7 p.m. in St. Philip’s Church.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will be administering the Sacrament of Confirmation to the pupils.  This is a great honour as it is his first time to visit the community of Mountview.

DUBLIN’S FITTEST SCHOOL

We are delighted to announce that we got 2nd place in the competition for Dublin’s Fittest School.  This was a wonderful achievement as the standard of entries was extremely high.  Well done to all involved and in particular to Ms. Flynn & Mr. Norton for all their hard work.

SPORTS UPDATE

Over the past month our girls’ Gaelic team have had a fantastic run of matches, with the latest thrilling win against a strong St. Canice’s team in the semi-final.  They are through to the final in Parnell Park.  Well done to all the girls and to Ms. Flynn & Ms. Cawley.  We look forward to cheering them on in the final!

Our junior boys’ team are in contention for a semi-final spot after two successive wins.  Best of luck to them also.

CYCLING SAFETY

The Cycling Safety course for 5th class pupils is now underway.  It is proving to be a great success with all pupils.

TRANSITION PROGRAMME

The school will be running a Transition Programme for all 6th class pupils on May 31st and June 1st.  It will take place during the school day and its aim is to help support each child in making a smooth transition to secondary school.

ACCORD

The ACCORD programme for 5th classes will run on Wednesday, May 18th.  Please send consent forms back to the class teacher as soon as possible.

GLANMORE TRIP

Our 5th classes recently enjoyed a tour of the Glanmore Factory which supplies our school lunches.  Many thanks to the Glanmore staff for facilitating this.  A great day was had by all.

SPONSORED WALK

Many thanks to all who supported our walk so generously and a reminder to those who have not yet returned their card & money to do so this week please. We rely on this funding to maintain all the additional activities we provide in the school.

JUMBLE SALE

We are still collecting items for our jumble sale which will take place in June.  Many thanks to all who have already donated. More details to follow.

In-service Day & June Break

The school will be closed on Friday 3rd (In-service day for teachers) and on Monday 6th (bank holiday), Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th June.

Summer Holidays

We will close for summer holidays on Thursday, June 30th.
