St. Philip’s Scratch Club was set up in September 2014 and it is growing from strength to strength each year. The students in Scratch Club decided to make a short movie to explain what Scratch means to them. It is definitely worth a watch.
With Scratch you can create your own animations, multi-level computer games and interactive activities. The students work collaboratively in teams to create and design their projects. You can completely personalise your project by designing your own sprites and backdrops and you can even record your own voice singing and talking. Our Student Council has 14 members at the moment, 8 pupils from 6th class and 6 pupils from 5th class, who were selected by their peers following class election campaigns!
The members of the Student Council are involved in the running of the school shop, counting the house points, distributing the “Abairt na Seachtaine” sheets to all the classes and doing various other jobs around the school.
