Dear Parent/Guardian,
1916 ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

ATHLETICS MEET
23 pupils have been chosen to represent the school tomorrow at the athletics meet in Morton Stadium, Santry. We wish them the best of luck.
SCHOOL SPORTS
The Fingal League is well underway at this stage. The senior boys won their first game. Our girls’ team have won all their matches to date and sit top of the table. The junior team are yet to play but have their first game this week. Finally, the boys’ soccer team had a great win last Friday, beating the opposition 4-0!
COACHING
6th classes have started a 6 week course in Zumba and will shortly be starting non-contact boxing. Our thanks to Gerard McDaid, one of our parents, for facilitating this.
DUBLIN 15’S FITTEST SCHOOL
A number of our pupils took part in the Dublin 15’s Fittest School competition in Blanchardstown IT today, reaching the final, which will take place later in April. Well done all!
GLANMORE TOUR
The 5th classes will be going on a tour of the ‘Glanmore Foods’ Factory on April 27th. This tour gives an insight into all the work that goes on behind the scenes in the making of our school lunches. It promises to be very interesting.
GARDENING
Our pupils have been busy lately planting a variety of fruit & vegetables. We look forward to seeing and tasting the result of all their hard work.
SCRATCH CLUB
The pupils in Ms. McCarrick’s Scratch Club will be presenting their work in ITB on Wednesday, April 13th. We are very proud of them and wish them well.
CONFIRMATION NOTICES
The retreat for pupils making Confirmation will take place on Tuesday, May 10th and Thursday, May 12th. Half of the pupils will attend on each date. You will be informed soon of the date your child is expected to attend. The cost to each pupil is €5. All pupils must bring a packed lunch on the day.
The Ceremony of Light will take place on Monday, May 23rd in St. Philip’s Church at 7 p.m. If you still have your child’s baptismal candle, please bring it with you on the night.
All pupils making Confirmation must produce their baptismal certificate as soon as possible. If your child was baptised in St. Philip’s Church, Mountview, there is no need to bring the cert as the baptism is already recorded there.
CYCLING SAFETY COURSE
The Cycling Safety course for 5th class pupils will begin on Monday, May 9th and run for 6 weeks. The course will be subsidised by the school and will cost only €8 per pupil. This is an excellent course and we encourage all 5th class pupils to take part.
CONGRATULATIONS
We would like to congratulate Mrs. Tighe on the birth of her little girl.
SCHOOL BOOKS
A reminder that if your child has availed of the school books’ rental scheme, these books cannot be marked or damaged in any way. Otherwise a fine will have to be paid.
