Fingal League Champions 2025
Last Thursday, 15th May 2025, the Boys’ Senior Gaelic team made their way to Abbottstown for the Division 8 Fingal League Final. This was the first time our boys’ team had reached the final in over 15 years. They took on the worthy opponents, Our Lady of Good Grace, Finglas. It was a thrilling game from start to finish, and both teams were well matched on the pitch. However, when the final whistle blew, St.Philip’s SNS one one-point lead meant the cup was coming back to Mountview. The team put in a solid performance on the pitch and there were a number of remarkable saves by our amazing goalkeeper Brody Phillips. The team managed to hold their nerve under pressure, and we are all immensely proud of them. Many parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and uncles turned up to support our boys’ team. The team were also well supported by well over 160 classmates who had beautiful banners and headbands to support the team. A big thank you must also go to all of our dedicated and talented teachers who gave up many lunch breaks to train the team, bring them to matches, supervise classes and lead them to success this year. In particular we would like to thank Mr Roberts and Mr. Norton for leading the way with the Gaelic team this year. We hope that next year we will see many more new faces joining the school teams.
