Parent Teacher Meetings:
Parent Teacher meetings are taking place this Thursday, November 23rd. If your child receives learning support, we would encourage you to meet with this teacher also. Pupils will finish school at 2.20 p.m. on Thursday to facilitate these meetings.
Maths For Fun
Maths for Fun is now up and running in the 3rd classes. A huge thank you to the parents who are running this programme in conjunction with the teachers and to all parents who are involved in school activities. If you would like to get involved in any such activities, you would be very welcome. Please contact us for further details.
School uniform & tracksuits
Many thanks for your continued support with our school uniform/tracksuit policy. We are very proud of how well the children look on a daily basis.
Attendance
As you know, good attendance is key to your child’s success in school. We ask you, therefore, to try to ensure that your child doesn’t miss any days, unless absolutely necessary.
Our attendance figures for this September, October and November are improved on last year and, with your help, we can continue this improvement.
We ask you also not to collect children from school early, unless it is absolutely necessary, as it is very disruptive to the school day. If you are collecting your child, please call to the school office to do so.
DATES FOR YOUR DIARY
• Anti-Bullying Week: Our annual anti-bullying week is taking place from December 4th – 8th and children will be involved in a variety of activities related to the prevention of bullying. Pupils in 5th & 6th classes will attend a cyber bullying workshop on Wednesday 6th and we will have a whole school quiz in the school hall on Thursday 7th. We would encourage you to use this opportunity to talk to your child about the issues raised during the week.
• School Choir: Our school choir will be singing in the Blanchardstown Centre on Monday, December 11th, starting at 11 am in aid of St. Vincent de Paul.
The school choir will be singing at Peace Proms on Sunday, February 4th at 8 pm. Tickets and other information available from www.peaceproms.com.
• Carol Service & Nativity Play: Thursday, December 21st at 1.30 p.m. in St. Philip’s Church.
Quiz
Huge congratulations to our quiz team – Hannah Burke, Senan Mooney, Abby Kinsella
and Gabriel Dobasu – who, under the guidance of Ms. Lynn and Mr. Reilly, are now through the quarter final of the Phoenix FM quiz. We wish them the very best of luck.
School Benches
Thank you all so much for supporting our non-uniform day to raise money for the benches for the newly tarmacked alcove in the school yard. We raised a total of €430 and we hope to have the benches in place very soon. This area has really enhanced the playing space available to our pupils and will be put to great use.
Thank you,
Paula Dargan
