GREAT NEWS!!
Áras an Uachtaráin Visit:
30 pupils from 5th class have been invited to Áras an Uachtaráin on October 18th when President Michael D Higgins will be receiving the President of Cyprus. This is a huge honour for the school and we know these boys and girls will represent us well.
Lunches:
All pupils will soon be receiving an additional morning snack, along with a healthy school lunch from Glanmore Foods. If you wish to change your child’s order you can do this by going on to the website with your own unique code. If you are having problems doing this, just phone Glanmore Foods and they will talk you through the process. Tours to Glanmore will be organised during the year. All children must have a lunch box to bring home their rubbish & milk cartons.
Commemoration:
Last week the Senior School officially opened a garden/bench to commemorate Noeleen O’Brien. It is a fitting tribute to Noeleen, who served the school as a lollipop lady for many years.
Congratulations:
We would like to congratulate Sr. Mary who celebrated her Golden Jubilee over the summer. The Junior & Senior Schools had a joint celebration for her recently and we wish her health & happiness in the future.
More Congratulations:
Congratulations to our new Student Council who were elected by their classmates. We wish them well in their new role.
Swimming Lessons:
Swimming lessons for pupils in 5th classes have begun. 3rd class swimming lessons will take place after Christmas.
Thank you!
A huge thanks to Ms. Flynn and her father who are doing great work behind the scenes reframing and naming old school class photographs. This is an ongoing project and of huge historical importance to the school. We are extremely grateful to them both.
Breakfast & Homework clubs:
These clubs are up and running. Parents are reminded not to send children to the breakfast club before 8.30 a.m.
NOTES FOR PARENTS
Safety:
We remind parents that school opens to receive pupils at 9 a.m. No responsibility is accepted for pupils arriving before the official opening time of the school. This also applies to pupils attending the breakfast club who leave the hall early and go out to the yard.
Board of Management:
Voting slips for the fathers’ nominee for the Board of Management have been sent out to all homes. We would ask all parents to vote on this matter. Please return your vote by 2 p.m. on Friday, October 14th.
Blanchardstown Library:
All pupils are encouraged to join the excellent facilities of Blanchardstown Library. It is our intention that all classes will visit the library at some stage this year.
Thank you!
Thanks to all parents/guardians for your cooperation with the school regarding the wearing of school uniform & tracksuit.
