Tour of Europe Challenge

For the first time ever we have taken part in the Tour of Europe Challenge.We are aiming to run as far as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, by running laps around the school grounds. It is 778km to the Eiffel Tower in Paris from Dublin, which means we must run 778 laps of the school in total. Our classes have been learning lots of interesting facts about The Eiffel Tower.

Our school was also kindly asked by Sports Ireland to help make the launch video for the Tour of Europe Challenge . This was a great honour and the children enjoyed taking part and being interviewed. Karen Cotter, the co-ordinator of the Active School Flag and Eileen O’Sullivan, from the PE Dept. of the DES even came to watch all the fun.

After we reach the Eiffel Tower we will keep on running to another landmark in Europe. Check out the map to see where else we might run to.
